April 2019

The April collection became quite big. Many have names, some not yet. I'll do my best

Flowers

East Asian yellow water-lily, (kouhone) コウホネ

Butterfliesand dragonflies
Small copper, (Benishijimi) ベニシジミ





Japanese Kawatombo,  ニホンカワトンボ



ヤマトンボ ?   ルリボシヤンマ ?   One day I will find out
One of the ‘Real’ Dragonflies, maybe Honsanae, ホンサナエ



Other insects
Larvae and pupa of ladybird beetles, (Tentomushi) テント虫ムシ 





ナガメ, (Nagame) has no English name, but could be called Japanese Harlequin cabbage bug





The same with this one. I'l call it Marukamemushi stinkbug, マルカメムシ





I suppose this is a type of Aphid. アブラムシ ?




Frogs and other reptiles
Japanese Tree frog, (amagaeru) アマガエル





Japanese Grass lizard, (nihonkanahebi) ニホンカナヘビ

March 2019

It's still cold, but some flowers and small bugs are showing us spring is here and the days will warm up soon. Some names, some not (yet)

Flowers
Japanese wild Violets, (Sumire) スミレ; the most common one of all 70 or so



Persian speedwell, (Ooinunofuguri) オオイヌノフグリ



Bermuda buttercup, (Kiiro katabami) キイロカタバミ



Insects
There is always something to see at sakura trees
Yokozuna assassin bug, (yokozuna sashigame) ヨコヅナサシガメ





The first kamemushi of the year
Marukamemushi stinkbug, マルカメムシ
