Moths on the blog

Our overnighter in Yoshiwa, Hiroshima held a nice surprise: Moth galore!

The big one in the middel: Japanese Luna Moth, (Oomizuao) オオミズアオ

Detail

Cute yellow: Kuromonga, クロモンドクガ

Several Emerald Moths. カギシロスジアオシャク, Kagishiro Sujiaoshaku

Large and spectacular when perched on a wall, but I nearly missed it on the ground. This Hawk Moth is called Ezoshimofuri Suzume エゾシモフリスズメin Japan.

Despite the blurry image (light was so difficult) I have a name for it. Obiga, オビガ

On the left Wild Silk Moth, (Kuwako) クワコ, on the right ???

More unidentiefied moths

During the day this beauty: Kimonga, キンモンガ

No names, but intricate wings

Note: Location has Yoshiwa Miwaku no Sato campsite address
