July beetles

 Beetles at flowers etc:

コアオハナムグリ　Gametis jucunda on シロバナサクラタデ　Persicaria japonica

Some spectacular looking beetles from Nakagawa city:

(オオ?)コフキコガネ、Melolontha spec. 

Nearby in the same tree, a bit darker colored, but same kind of beetle I think

ヨツスジトラカミキリ, Yotsusuji Longhorn beetle (Chlorophorus quinquefasciatus)

Very similar, but with a different diet: 

Bamboo tiger beetle, タケトラカミキリ, Chlorophorus annularis

 emerging out of the holes in the bamboo. Had it just hedged? 

All covered in bamboo dust, it must be a new-born

Shiny shield, blue-black legs, who is this handsome beaut?  Mt. Ihara

Dramatic, just like some horror movie's monster
